2011 year analysis

Totalling a driven distance of 16700km the soon-to-be-lpged-Corolla had a warning light episode, solved by the Toyota dealer with no costs since it was under warranty, and... that was pretty much it!

Headache?

"Check engine" light went on... got it to the dealer and turned out to be a problem with the catalytic converter, that got damaged due to a malfunctioning ECU (it was working on a wrong mixture I was told).

Since it is still under warranty from the Toyota dealer, this means no expenses for me... Nice! Since it would be something over 2300€ without taxes.

First servicing

Engine oil 10W40;

Oil filter;

Brake fluid;

Spark plugs;

Reverse light switch;

Plate light bulb;

Checking noise from passenger door electric window;

Rear doors rubber out of place and losing original shape (warranty);

Removing rust at the back door's right hinge (warranty).

This service costed me 239.55€ at 121168km, still on petrol.

New pair of tires

Winter is coming (or so we think around this part of the globe) and new tires are needed since the old Bridgestone Turanza ER300 rubber is in pretty bad shape in spite of having plenty of thread left.

I once had some Yokohama A.drive fitted on a car, and liked the handling, so this time I decided for a pair of Yokohama C.drive 2 (efficiency label grade B for rain, C for fuel economy and 70dB for noise).

Price for both tires fitted and ready to run was 170€, fitted at 119105km.

The first glitch

A H7 light bulb bought to fit the dead right headlight bulb. After something like half an hour of cursing and finger bending, I managed to get it into place.
